Mafia Wars Invite Request Error Work Around

 Many players have been reporting that they are unable to add new Facebook friends to their mafia. I'm sure we have encountered the scenario of accepting a Mafia Wars invitation from the ZMC and got the error message "There was an error with this request.".

One easy solution is to go to your Recruit Page to accept your requests but not all requests make it to that page.

If you get an error in the ZMC and that request didn't go to your Recruit Page, your name will be bounced back into your friends list of Facebook friends not in their mafia and they cycle will continue.

This problem has been added to the Known Issues thread.  Contrary to what it says, there is a workaround but nobody has bothered to post it on the forums.
Error When Trying To Accept Mafia Invites
Issue: Some players report receiving receiving the error message "There was an error with this request" when trying to accept Mafia invites.

Until Zynga figures out how to fix this problem, the workaround is very easy. Simply send the player you want to add to your mafia a gift. Once accepted, they will automatically be added to your mafia. To demonstrate, I removed my alternate account from my mafia.

When locating the player you wish to add to your mafia, use the "Facebook Friends" category and search for their name.

When the player accepts your gift, they will automatically be added to your mafia.

You can see below that my alternate account is now in my mafia even though I never sent a Mafia Wars Invite. It is interesting to note that in some instances you can now send the same person more than one gift in a 24 hour period.
